**Professional Services Engineer - West** **Intermediate Professional Services, Technical Architect** **An overview of this role** Lead the technical direction of customer engagements from early scoping and discovery through delivery. Design high-level architectures and implementation plans for GitLab infrastructure, coordinate implementation work across teams and partners, and support customers deploying GitLab in cloud and on-premises environments. **What you'll do** • Design and deliver GitLab reference architecture implementations for self-managed and cloud environments • Lead source code management and CI/CD migrations to GitLab, including large-scale enterprise moves • Build repeatable delivery kits, documentation, and enablement materials • Lead the full technical delivery lifecycle from scoping through implementation and handoff • Produce high-level and detailed technical designs for GitLab infrastructure • Evaluate and communicate scalability and security considerations • Deploy and configure GitLab using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab Environment Toolkit • Plan and execute source system migrations using Congregate • Provide DevOps and DevSecOps consulting and best-practice guidance • Coordinate implementation work across GitLab team members, partners, and customer stakeholders • Mentor Professional Services and partner consultants • Maintain and improve delivery automation assets • Support SOW creation and maintain 55% billable utilization **What you'll bring** • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical discussions and asynchronous environments • Demonstrated experience delivering consulting services: source code management migration, cloud architecture, DevOps engineering, or CI/CD consulting • Enterprise software development experience • Progressive DevOps platform experience • Hands-on infrastructure deployment experience in cloud and on-premises environments • Experience writing clean, maintainable automation code (Terraform, Ansible, scripts) • Experience performing migrations to GitLab using Congregate or similar tools • Working knowledge of data consistency and integrity concepts • Strong problem-solving and time management skills • Comfort working in remote, asynchronous environments • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience **Preferred** • Location in PST, MST, or CST timezone • Comfortable with up to 30% travel **Salary Range (US)** $123,840 — $209,520 USD
