We’re data-driven, iterate quickly, and care deeply about our people. ## Who You Are You’re an experienced data scientist who has built and deployed machine learning solutions for complex (and sometimes ambiguous) business problems. You’ve worked end-to-end across the ML lifecycle—from early discovery and analysis through production deployment and ongoing maintenance. You believe strong data science accelerates learning, improves decision-making, and delivers measurable impact. ## What You Will Work On - Lead end-to-end machine learning and data science projects - Partner with Product and Engineering to identify and scope new use-cases (e.g., Risk & Insurance, Payments) - Use SQL to query structured and unstructured datasets - Prototype, evaluate, and deploy solutions using classical ML, statistical methods, algorithms, deep learning, and LLMs - Apply AI-assisted approaches to analysis, model exploration, and deployment - Help implement and curate strategic team assets (data assets, generalized code/tooling, reusable frameworks) - Support technical and code reviews - Build model monitors and systematic methods for gathering consumer feedback post-deployment - Collaborate with the Machine Learning Engineering team on deployment infrastructure and MLOps tooling roadmap ## How You Will Do Your Work Success depends not only on *what* you deliver, but *how* you deliver it—grounded in competencies like: - **Good judgment** (critical thinking, risk awareness, ownership) - **Teamwork & communication** (documentation, collaboration, empathy) - **Influence & leadership** (knowledge-sharing, mentorship, helping partners become more data-informed) - **Skills & knowledge** (continuous learning and improvement) Justworks also aligns behaviors to **COGIS**: - **Camaraderie** - **Openness** - **Grit** - **Integrity** - **Simplicity** ## Qualifications - 7+ years as a data scientist or ML practitioner with a track record of business impact - Strong expertise in predictive modeling, numerical algorithms, and statistical methods - Strong communication and data storytelling skills - Strong business acumen and ability to connect analysis to product strategy and outcomes - Fluent in **SQL** - Proficient in **Python** for research and production-grade development - Familiarity with cloud data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, dbt) - Curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies - Prior experience in a high-growth startup or SaaS environment (preferred) ## Compensation & Location - Base wage range (New York City Office): **$166,000–$214,000 per year** - #LI-DG2 • #LI-Hybrid *Actual compensation depends on multiple factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work location.* ## Equal Opportunity Justworks is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates and employees as required by law.
