About this role
## Anduril Industries — Engineering Lead, Air Defense (U.S. Air Force Portfolio) Anduril is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By applying the expertise, technology, and business models of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to defense, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built, and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking to the military—**in months, not years**. --- ## About the Team Anduril’s **Air Defense** team develops, integrates, and fields autonomous systems that **find, track, and defeat threats in the sky** while keeping operators in control of engagement decisions. The team brings together Roadrunner, Sentry, Anvil, Pulsar, and Wisp with existing and third-party sensors and effectors through Lattice—creating a software-enabled family of systems for the modern battlespace. As air becomes more contested, these networked capabilities provide warfighters with the awareness and response options needed to protect forces against rapidly evolving UAS threats. --- ## About the Job The **U.S. Air Force** is one of Anduril’s largest and fastest-growing air defense customers. This portfolio has moved well beyond demonstrations and includes: - **Programs of record** - **Multi-year IDIQs** - **Recurring sustainment** - Scaling installation defense from **individual sites** toward a **service-wide posture** The technical scope spans **sensors, effectors, command and control, tactical networks, and accreditation boundaries**. ### Four kinds of work run in parallel - **Permanent installations**: Defend flightlines and test ranges on base infrastructure under a government accreditation posture (power, networking, cyber compliance, and data handling are as critical as sensors and effectors). - **Deployable kits**: Shipped on short notice and required to work on arrival, including in cold environments that affect hardware behavior. - **Rapidly relocatable passive detection**: Extends the kill chain beyond the base perimeter into the theater air picture via tactical data links. - **Special access environments**: Engineering includes constraining what the system is permitted to disclose. ### Your role You are the **engineering lead across the entire portfolio**. You own the **technical baseline** for delivered configurations, including: - Architecture - Interfaces to Anduril and third-party sensors and effectors - Underlying networks - Accreditation scope - Verification approach (what determines readiness) While individual programs may have their own systems engineers, you maintain the **end-to-end technical picture** and resolve the technical questions that fall between program owners.
