**About the Role** DoorDash is building the world’s most reliable on-demand logistics engine for delivery. We’re looking for **Software Engineers, Machine Learning** to help build and maintain a large-scale, 24x7 global infrastructure system that powers DoorDash’s 3-sided marketplace. As a Software Engineer, Machine Learning, you’ll conceptualize, design, implement, and validate algorithmic improvements to the **catalog system** and our **product knowledge graph**—making it accurate, standardized, semantically rich, discoverable, and extensible. This role is **hybrid** with some in-office time expected and reports to an **Engineering Manager**. --- **You’ll be excited about this opportunity because you will…** - Develop advanced ML models to improve **ads efficiency and quality** - Design and build **optimization algorithms** for budget pacing and automated bidding - Establish a **data-driven framework** to understand how bid density and market competitiveness impact advertising value and platform revenue - Develop new data solutions (e.g., **embeddings** and **consumer profiles**) to target relevant audiences - Own the **end-to-end ML lifecycle**: ideation, offline training, online shadowing/deployment, experimentation, and post-launch monitoring - Build and extend data/ML infrastructure to empower Ads data applications (analysis, modeling, experimentation) - Scale systems and services to fuel business growth --- **We’re excited about you because you have…** - **M.S. or PhD** in a technical field (e.g., CS, math, statistics, physics) or equivalent - **3+ years** ML industry experience with strong ML fundamentals - Experience building **data/feature engineering pipelines** at scale using **PySpark** and **Snowflake SQL** - Experience building **production ML systems** using frameworks such as **PyTorch, Keras, LightGBM, scikit-learn, Spark ML**, or related **Preferred (not required):** - Online advertising - Search relevance & ranking - Recommendation systems --- **Compensation & Benefits** - Starting pay is determined by job-related factors (skills, experience, qualifications, location, market conditions).
