**Staff Systems Engineer** **Who We Are** SmithRx is a rapidly growing, venture-backed Health-Tech company on a mission to disrupt the Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) sector by building a next-generation drug acquisition platform powered by cutting-edge technology, innovative cost-saving tools, and best-in-class customer service. **Job Summary** SmithRx is seeking a visionary and highly strategic **Staff Systems Engineer** to serve as the overarching technical authority and architect for enterprise endpoint infrastructure, the vendor ecosystem, and IT asset strategy—while also acting as the senior-most member of the IT team in our **Plano, TX** office. In this role, you will: - Define the multi-year technology roadmap for endpoint environments - Drive organizational alignment on vendor integrations - Architect zero-touch, modern management frameworks at scale - Partner with executive leadership, Security, and Compliance to ensure infrastructure scales while meeting **HIPAA** and **SOC 2** requirements **What You Will Do** - **Strategic Architecture & Ecosystem Vision:** Architect the enterprise Windows and modern workspace ecosystem; define multi-year roadmap, standards, and security baselines. - **Next-Gen Endpoint Management:** Lead design/governance/optimization of **Microsoft Entra ID**, **Microsoft Intune**, and **Windows Autopilot**; drive zero-touch provisioning and continuous compliance. - **Vendor Strategy & Strategic Partnerships:** Own vendor strategy and technical oversight; define onboarding frameworks and evaluate enterprise-grade technologies. - **Virtual Workspace & Fleet Architecture:** Architect governance for **CloudPC / Azure Virtual Desktop** and third-party remote environments with secure access for partners/contractors/distributed teams. - **Asset & Governance Strategy:** Establish total lifecycle governance, hardware refresh strategies, and SaaS asset management; partner with Finance/Operations. - **Enterprise Automation Frameworks:** Architect scalable automation using **PowerShell, Python, and APIs** to streamline identity lifecycle workflows and endpoint remediations. - **Architectural Escalation & Root Cause Leadership:** Lead systemic RCAs and implement long-term structural preventions. - **Security Alignment & Regulatory Compliance:** Align endpoint/cloud strategies with **HIPAA, SOC 2, and zero-trust**; architect IAM controls and conditional access. - **Mentorship & Engineering Standards:** Set technical standards; author high-level architecture designs (ADRs/runbooks); mentor teams. - **High-Availability Leadership:** Serve as a technical consultant/escalation point for major incidents to ensure resilient availability. **What You Will Bring to SmithRx** - **Experience:** 8+ years in Systems Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, or IT Infrastructure Operations; proven architectural leadership in high-growth, SaaS-driven, or regulated environments. - **Microsoft Stack Mastery:** Deep expertise in Windows OS, Entra ID, Intune, dynamic groups, conditional access, and zero-touch Autopilot deployments. - **Vendor Infrastructure Leadership:** Ability to manage strategic vendor partnerships and influence cross-functional technical decisions. - **CloudPC & Virtualization Mastery:** Experience architecting/deploying/governing **CloudPC (Windows 365)**, **Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)**, or VDI. - **Advanced Automation & Integration:** PowerShell/Python scripting; experience with REST APIs and iPaaS for cross-s
