**Software Engineer II - Query Gateway** **About the Role** Join New Relic's Data, Identity, & API Platform group to work on NRDB, our proprietary telemetry database. You'll own the query gateway stack and contribute to systems processing millions of messages per second handling petabytes of data. **What You'll Do** • Own the New Relic query gateway stack • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI, Visualizations, and Data Processing teams • Build and maintain scalable distributed Java services and petabyte-scale infrastructure • Investigate and resolve critical performance, availability, and resiliency issues • Work in an agile, DevOps environment with on-call rotation **Required** • 3+ years collaborative software development experience • Strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, modern design patterns) • Self-starter with strong code ownership • Command-line proficiency and troubleshooting ability • Java experience or equivalent OOP language (C++, C#, etc.) **Bonus Skills** • 24x7 SaaS experience • Database, distributed systems, or query execution knowledge • Observability platform experience • Public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Kubernetes/Docker expertise • Asynchronous distributed team experience **Compensation & Benefits** $126,000 – $158,000 USD base salary Bonus eligible, healthcare, dental, vision, 401(k) match, flexible PTO, 11 paid holidays, mental health benefits **Location:** Remote *Note: Visa sponsorship not available*
