With 6M+ users in 100+ countries, Bubble helps break down barriers to entrepreneurship and innovation. ### Platform Team The Platform team focuses on scaling, reliability, and enablement as Bubble grows its customer base. You’ll work across scalable infrastructure and core backend systems—delivering just-in-time capacity, fast workload execution, and data scalability while balancing cost and addressing implementation/infrastructure inefficiencies. ### About the Role You’ll tackle challenges faced by the largest cloud providers with a small, elite team. This role is at the forefront of building a platform reshaping the traditional engineering stack, and includes after-hours/on-call availability. ### What You’ll Do - Implement Bubble infrastructure that scales to infinitely many apps of any size and complexity - Improve performance and reliability across backend services (efficiency, capacity management, and data tier) - Design and implement observability (SLOs and an observability platform exposing performance characteristics to end users) - Support billions of requests by building and iterating on core backbone services for arbitrary end-user applications - Build the workflow engine and scale the data tier for high-volume ingest/export/workflows - Build next-generation cloud infrastructure to improve reliability, scalability, and availability - Participate in triage and on-call to diagnose and resolve issues, and implement changes to prevent recurrence ### About You - Current senior engineer, or highly experienced engineer with 5+ years of software development experience - Hands-on experience with scalable distributed systems; proficiency with Node.js, Rust, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Terraform (AWS experience is a plus) - Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of scaling solutions for complex, high-traffic applications - Excellent communication and ability to partner effectively and execute priorities - Commitment to improving performance and reliability, including participation in on-call ### Compensation - Estimated salary: **$183,000–$237,000** (varies based on skills, qualifications, experience, and market demand) ### Location - Remote-friendly (candidates authorized to work in the U.S.) - Team based in NYC; works Eastern Time - Not currently set up to employ in: AK, AL, AR, DE, HI, ID, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MT, NE, NH, NM, ND, OK, RI, SC, SD, VT, WV, WY - If you’re in one of these states but open to relocating to NYC, they’d still love to hear from you - Relocation support available; preference for candidates within commuting distance of Manhattan ### Tech Stack (examples) - **Frontend:** TypeScript, SolidJS, React Native - **Backend:** TypeScript, Node.js, Rust - **AI/ML:** Python, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.), LangChain - **Infrastructure:** AWS, CDK/Terraform, ECS, Redis, Postgres - **Data & AI Workflows:** JSON-based app representations, proprietary datasets ### Benefits - Comprehensive health coverage - 401(k) matching - Wellness and work enablement stipends - Generous PTO - Sabbatical program - Benefits value roughly **$20,000** in additional annual compensation ### Apply If this sounds like you, apply.
