## About the Role Core (aka Browserbase Core Infrastructure) is the backbone of everything we do. This team keeps our browsers running at scale—solving massive distributed systems challenges and ensuring our platform is fast, reliable, and scalable. ## What You’ll Do - Build, operate, and grow the Browserbase Core platform - Design and develop robust, scalable distributed backends with developer-friendly APIs - Partner with the rest of Engineering - Gather input, provide great support, and help every team build on Core with confidence - Help define, scope, and review key projects - Set priorities on the roadmap and sequence deliverables to move the platform forward - Establish and reinforce best practices - Development, operations, and reliability - Continuously enhance the platform - Meet rapidly expanding customer adoption and demand - Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production operational issues - Document as you go - Share knowledge with the team ## Technical Skills - Deep experience building and scaling distributed systems - Scale on the order of hundreds or thousands of instances - Strong coding expertise in Go or TypeScript - Bonus if you’ve worked with Firecracker or similar VMMs - Familiarity with modern infrastructure and delivery - CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, message queues, relational databases - Automated testing, performance optimization - Zero-downtime multi-region deployments - Systems-thinking mindset - Understand how infrastructure choices ripple up to customer experience ## You’re a Good Fit If You… - Have high agency - Set direction, make judgment calls, and drive projects forward without waiting for perfect clarity - Take ownership and bias toward action - Can drive projects independently - High accountability with minimal outside input - Communicate clearly - Writing and in person; choose the right medium - Are adaptable - Dive into unfamiliar systems, learn quickly, and make sound technical decisions - Enjoy collaborating with a small, ambitious team - Fast-paced environment - Are excited to work 5 days/week in our San Francisco HQ - Or open to relocating ## Why Join Us - Work on some of the hardest problems in modern infrastructure - Collaborate with a small, high-bar team that cares deeply about quality - Build core technology every Browserbase product depends on - Join an ambitious startup where your impact is felt immediately ## More About Browserbase Browserbase is the complete platform to build and deploy agents that browse and interact with the web like humans.
