**Software Engineer, Passport & Commerce, Web** **About Airbnb** Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. **The Community You Will Join (Passport & Commerce)** - Passport & Commerce builds the trusted account and commerce foundation that lets anyone, anywhere, become part of the Airbnb community—from first sign-up, through profile and connections, to every booking, benefit, and business transaction. - You’ll join a newly formed org within Guest & Host that brings together identity and commerce foundations under one roof. - You’ll work closely with Payments & Wallet engineering, Identity & Privacy, Profile & Community, and Guest & Host product, design, and data science partners to stand up the team’s roadmap and technical foundations. **The Difference You Will Make** - Build web experiences that bring account features to life for millions of guests and hosts. - Own well-scoped features from technical design through launch, partnering with backend, iOS, Android, and design counterparts. - Ship reliable, performant, polished web experiences that keep parity with iOS and Android surfaces. **A Typical Day** - Design and build web features using modern, component-driven React and TypeScript - Partner with product and design to deliver polished, accessible web experiences - Collaborate with backend, iOS, and Android engineers to keep behavior and data consistent across platforms - Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code; participate in code and design reviews - Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance, and reliability issues affecting the web app **Your Expertise** - 3+ years of professional front-end/web engineering experience shipping features in a large-scale, production consumer web application - Proficiency in TypeScript and React (or a comparable modern framework), including component-driven architecture, state management, and data-fetching patterns (e.g., GraphQL) - Experience integrating APIs and collaborating with backend and iOS/Android engineers to keep cross-platform experiences consistent - Track record of delivering features from technical design through launch and iteration - Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable operating with ambiguity on a newly formed team - Solid understanding of web performance, accessibility (WCAG), responsive design, and CI/deployment practices **Location** - US - Remote Eligible - The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. - While remote eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (Airbnb provides an up-to-date excluded-states list). **Pay Range** - **$162,000 — $186,000 USD** **Inclusion & Belonging** Airbnb is committed to working with the broadest talent pool possible and encourages all qualified individuals to apply. **Reasonable Accommodations** If you need assistance or an accommodation to submit an application, contact **reasonableaccommodations@airbnb.com**. **Equal Employment Opportunity** Airbnb values diversity and belonging and is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. **Recruiting Scams (Important)** Airbnb roles are posted on **careers.airbnb.com**, and recruiters correspond only from **@airbnb.com** or **@ext.airbnb.com**.
