**Software Engineer, Passport & Commerce (iOS) — Airbnb** **About the team (Passport & Commerce)** - Passport & Commerce builds the trusted account and commerce foundation that helps people join the Airbnb community—from first sign-up, through profile and connections, to bookings, benefits, and business transactions. - This newly formed org brings together identity and commerce foundations under one roof, with a mission to move Airbnb beyond the transaction by building trust and value that travel with accounts and their businesses. - You’ll partner closely with Payments & Wallet engineering, Identity & Privacy, Profile & Community, plus product, design, and data science partners as the team stands up its roadmap and technical foundations. **What you’ll do (The Difference You Will Make)** - Build iOS experiences that bring account features to life for millions of guests and hosts. - Own well-scoped features end-to-end—from technical design through launch—working closely with backend, Android, and design counterparts. - Ship reliable, performant, polished iOS experiences while maintaining parity with Android and web. **A typical day** - Design and build iOS features using modern, declarative UI and unidirectional state architecture. - Partner with product and design to deliver polished, accessible iOS experiences. - Collaborate with backend, Android, and web engineers to keep behavior and data consistent across platforms. - Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code; participate in code and design reviews. - Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance, and reliability issues in the iOS app. **Your expertise** - 3+ years of professional iOS engineering experience shipping features in a large-scale, production consumer app. - Strong Swift and modern iOS architecture skills (e.g., SwiftUI), plus unidirectional state management (MVI/MVVM/Redux-style) and dependency injection. - Experience integrating APIs and collaborating with backend and other platform engineers (Android and web) to keep cross-platform experiences consistent. - Track record of delivering features from technical design through launch and iteration. - Strong communication and collaboration; comfortable operating with ambiguity (especially on a newly formed team). - Solid understanding of mobile performance, accessibility, and release/CI practices for a large-scale consumer app. **Location / Work model** - US — Remote Eligible.
