Build and manage high-performing software engineering teams supporting critical business and technology areas. **Key Responsibilities** • Build and manage highly motivated engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, and staff development • Drive budgeting, planning, and roadmap prioritization with product managers • Design robust, modular, and scalable systems; lead hands-on implementation of new features • Ensure systems are secure, compliant, performing well, and up-to-date • Monitor KPIs and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations • Identify and drive system and process improvements • Leverage CI/CD and process optimization to improve time to market • Stay current with industry trends and drive adoption of best practices • Assist in developing technical vision, strategy, and innovation • Communicate engineering vision to executive leadership **Required Qualifications** • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field • 10+ years software engineering experience • 7+ years leading and managing staff • 2+ years managing large teams • Proficiency in building and managing multiple engineering teams • Experience designing high-quality, complex distributed systems • Strong project management and communication skills • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders **Preferred Qualifications** • Master's Degree in Computer Science • Experience with Guidewire, Claims Center, and insurance domain • Background in P&C Insurance software development • Experience leading Claims technology organizations through modernization and transformation **Compensation & Benefits** • Competitive salary: $107,344–$300,603/year (varies by location and experience) • Flexible remote work (most positions) • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life, and pet insurance • 401(k) with company match • Paid time off + 9 company holidays • Bonus programs and professional development opportunities • Health and wellness resources **About Mercury** Mercury Insurance has guided people to reduce risk for 60+ years.
