**Full Stack Engineer — Private Assets (MSCI)** ## Team / Role Overview Join our **Private Assets AI** team in **New York** and help build the platform that changes how the world’s largest allocators evaluate funds and managers. Our **AI-native diligence platform** turns large volumes of unstructured documents into structured, decision-ready insights. You’ll be a **hands-on individual contributor** at the center of the product—owning the **client interface**, the **services behind it**, and **AI features** that connect them. You’ll ship end-to-end with a product-minded generalist mindset, working closely with **product, design, AI engineers**, and **clients**. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and ship product features end-to-end across: - **Frontend:** React, **Next.js**, TypeScript - **Backend:** **Python**, **FastAPI** - Build responsive, performant, intuitive UI for **document-heavy workflows**, including: - data review - diligence frameworks - report generation and editing - Design and evolve **APIs** and **data models** for both the application and AI-driven features - Integrate **LLM-powered capabilities** (e.g., document extraction, chat over data, generated reports) into client workflows - Work directly with clients and client-facing teams to understand diligence workflows, gather feedback, and drive product improvements - Support **client onboarding and integrations**, including secure document ingestion and platform configuration - Own reliability and performance across the stack via **testing, monitoring, and incident response** - Drive engineering quality through **code reviews, design documentation, and CI/CD** - Improve team productivity using **AI coding assistants and agents** ## Skills & Experience - **3+ years** building and operating production web applications end-to-end - Strong front-end experience with **React, Next.js, TypeScript**, shipping polished, data-rich interfaces - Strong backend experience in **Python** (APIs/services such as FastAPI), **relational databases** (MySQL/Postgres), and **async/background job processing** - Experience integrating **LLM APIs** into product features (prompt design, tool calling, handling model outputs in a user-facing app) - Strong product sense: understand user workflows, feature usability, and make sensible scope trade-offs - Ability to work effectively with clients and non-technical stakeholders - Comfortable in a lean, fast-moving team—able to move across front end, backend, and AI work and see features through to production **Plus (Nice to Have):** - Financial services experience (private markets, asset management, wealth management, or fintech) - Forward-deployed / solutions / early-stage product engineering with significant client exposure - Experience with **GCP or Azure**, containers, and **CI/CD** (e.g., GitHub Actions) ## What We Offer - **Salary range:** **$125,000 – $205,000/year** + eligible annual bonus - Transparent compensation and comprehensive benefits (location-tailored) - Flexible working arrangements, advanced technology, and collaborative workspaces - High-performance, innovation-focused culture - Global learning and career development programs (including Learning@MSCI and AI Learning Center) - Inclusion-focused environment with multiple Employee Resource Groups ## Equal Opportunity MSCI is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. *Note: MSCI does no
