**Software Engineering Manager** ## Team Responsibilities - Lead a small team of Associate and Senior Associate engineers, providing both technical direction and day-to-day people management. - Own delivery quality, engineer growth, and team morale (run 1:1s, code reviews, and technical mentorship). - Act as a working leader: set technical standards through direct contribution and coaching. - Stay hands-on enough to personally architect and ship features alongside the team. ## Key Responsibilities - Build and ship end-to-end features across the frontend and backend. - Integrate with Go-based APIs. - Partner with product and design to translate climate data into performant, accessible user experiences. - Debug issues across the full stack (frontend, backend, and underlying data). - Collaborate with platform engineers and data teams to ensure product behavior reflects real-world data. - Manage, mentor, and drive code quality and engineering standards through direct involvement in day-to-day work. ## Skills & Experience - Strong frontend fundamentals (UI architecture, performance, accessibility) and comfort working across the stack. - Experience building and integrating APIs in production systems. - Prior experience managing or mentoring engineers (even informally). - Familiarity with GraphQL, geospatial, or data-heavy systems. - Strong cross-functional collaboration with PMs and designers. - Growth mindset and ability to operate with urgency in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment. ## About MSCI — What We Offer - **Salary range:** $105,000 – $137,000/year, plus eligible annual bonus. - Transparent compensation and comprehensive benefits (tailored to your location). - Flexible working arrangements, advanced technology, and collaborative workspaces. - High-performance, innovation-focused culture. - Global network of colleagues and expertise-sharing. - Learning resources (Learning@MSCI, AI Learning Center, LinkedIn Learning Pro) and ongoing development opportunities. - Multi-directional career paths and internal mobility. - Inclusion and belonging supported through Employee Resource Groups. ## Equal Opportunity MSCI is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
