We’re redefining healthcare by putting the customer first and delivering access to care that is affordable, accessible, and personal—from diagnosis to treatment to delivery. **About the Role (Director of Engineering — Commerce)** Commerce is the engine behind a seamless buying and subscription experience. As **Director of Engineering for Commerce**, you’ll be the single engineering DRI for the end-to-end commerce platform spanning **catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout**. You’ll lead teams building the foundational systems every customer transaction depends on—owning the technical vision, architecture, and delivery for a complex, high-throughput domain where **correctness and uptime are non-negotiable**. You’ll partner closely with product, design, data, finance, Pharmacy, Care, and operations leaders to deliver a **fast, trustworthy, conversion-optimized** commerce experience, and set the multi-year technical and organizational strategy to scale. --- **You Will** - Lead, coach, and inspire a team of engineers; foster innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Serve as the single engineering DRI for Commerce—owning technical vision, strategy, and execution across catalog, pricing, promotions, payments, and checkout. - Drive the next-generation commerce platform vision, including a shift to a rich, durable **catalog domain model**. - Define and deliver the engineering roadmap with product and design—balancing innovation, reliability, scalability, and quality. - Champion clear domain boundaries and enforced contracts; move away from direct cross-domain database access toward **APIs and published events**. - Lead the transition to an **AI-first engineering culture** and **spec-driven development**. - Scale architecture and systems for long-term growth and performance using evolutionary architecture. - Oversee platform architecture for **scalability, reliability, security, and compliance** (with particular rigor for payments and financially sensitive transactions). - Drive alignment across squads and cross-functional partners while managing competing priorities and trade-offs (speed vs. technical debt vs. innovation). - Partner with data/analytics to improve pricing, promotions, and checkout experiences that increase conversion and retention. - Mentor and develop engineering leaders (succession planning, leadership growth, building a strong technical bench). - Own staffing and organizational strategy (hiring, headcount planning, team structuring). - Represent engineering in cross-functional and executive forums; translate strategy, status, and trade-offs for senior stakeholders. --- **You Have** - **12+ years** of software engineering experience, with **5+ years** leading multiple teams/organizations in high-growth environments. - Proven success leading cross-functional product engineering teams and owning end-to-end consumer experiences. - Experience in **health tech**, e-commerce, or subscription-based platforms preferred. - Strong technical background with modern web/service architectures (**Node.js, GraphQL, React, TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes**). - Expertise building scalable, secure, and compliant systems handling clinical/health-related data. - Experience integrating third-party data sources, APIs, and device platforms (labs, wearables, fulfillment). - Ability
