**Senior Infrastructure Engineer** **About the Role** Join Upstart's Data Platform Engineering team as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Data Production Experience (PX) team. You'll own Databricks Lakehouse infrastructure across multiple environments, including a newly launched regulated environment for Upstart Bank. **Key Responsibilities** • **Lakehouse Infrastructure & Security**: Manage Databricks platform across environments, expand infrastructure-as-code, enforce no-click-ops policy, establish disaster recovery, implement least-privilege access controls, and resolve security risks • **Compliance**: Close control gaps and automate evidence gathering for OCC, SOX, and SOC audits • **Cost & Efficiency**: Reduce Databricks and AWS spend through cost attribution, waste detection, and platform optimizations **What You'll Do** • Evaluate and adopt new technologies to expand platform capabilities • Improve developer efficiency and infrastructure reliability across cross-functional teams • Enhance Lakehouse security, usage efficiency, and observability • Mentor junior engineers and evangelize engineering best practices • Own infrastructure components end-to-end from design through production support **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience • 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or data platform engineering • Hands-on experience with lakehouse/big data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, Delta Lake) • AWS expertise (IAM, S3, EC2, EKS), Python, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CDK), CI/CD, Kubernetes **Preferred Qualifications** • Security & compliance experience (SOX, SOC 2, GDPR, GLBA, OCC) • Cloud/data platform cost optimization experience • DevOps proficiency with CI/CD tools (Kubernetes, Jenkins, CDK, Terraform) • Cloud networking fundamentals • Distributed systems and big data architecture knowledge • Experience with AI coding assistants **Compensation & Benefits** 💰 **Salary**: $166,900 - $230,900 USD (varies by location) ✨ **Benefits Include**: • Competitive bonus and annual equity grants (vest quarterly) • 401(k) with company match ($2 for every $1, up to $15k annually) • ESPP with discounted stock options • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision) • HSA contributions, life insurance, disability coverage • Paid time off, sick leave, family/parental leave • EAP mental health support • Annual wellness and productivity allowances • Team events and community connection **Work Environment** 🌍 **Remote-First**: Work from anywhere in the US/Canada with quarterly in-person onsites (2-4 days) 📍 **Office Locations**: Bay Area, Austin, Columbus, New York City **Equal Opportunity** Upstart is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusive hiring practices.
