**Software Engineer II (Ground Software)** ## About Relativity Space Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit—helping unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation. ## About the team The Terrestrial Software team builds the foundation for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform. They automate and streamline workflows across Terran R’s lifecycle—from raw material intake to launch operations and manufacturing on Mars—by designing and deploying enterprise applications, industrial automation, data analytics infrastructure, and next-generation AI. ## About the role You’ll help build the frontend platform for our operator UI, including the application shell, design system, and shared data layer used to deliver features. **Key responsibilities:** - Contribute to the frontend platform for the operator UI (application shell, design system, shared data layer) - Implement frontend modules following established architecture and contribution patterns - Migrate features/components from separate front ends into the unified operator platform - Work with real-time hardware telemetry and build efficient UI components that meet performance requirements - Learn from senior engineers, participate in code reviews, and apply best practices to improve code quality and frontend skills ## About you - Typically 2+ years building production web applications with strong **TypeScript** and **React** expertise - Experience contributing to shared frontend codebases, component libraries, or design systems used by multiple teams - Foundational frontend performance skills (profiling, identifying bottlenecks, implementing optimizations) - Experience with state management and real-time data updates in React (e.g., Redux, Context API, WebSocket integrations) - Ability to collaborate with senior engineers, receive mentorship, and contribute to architectural discussions ## Nice to haves (not required) - Real-time data visualization/charting or industrial control/SCADA/hardware-in-the-loop experience - Familiarity with binary streaming protocols (WebSockets/protobuf) and offloading work to Web Workers - Experience with monorepo build systems (Bazel) or embedding code editors (Monaco) ## Compensation & benefits - **Hiring range:** $130,000 — $196,000 USD - Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors - Total rewards include competitive salary and equity, generous PTO/sick leave, parental leave, and an annual learning & development stipend ## Equal opportunity Relativity Space is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
