**Senior Software Engineer II - Solution Lifecycle (Remote Eligible)** **About the Role:** Join Smartsheet's Solution Lifecycle team to build next-generation platform infrastructure while tackling meaningful distributed systems challenges. This role focuses on core infrastructure reliability, stability, and scale alongside a talented engineering team. **Key Responsibilities:** • Design and build scalable back-end services solving complex distributed systems challenges • Contribute to core infrastructure serving as the backbone for Smartsheet • Manage and upgrade large-scale database infrastructure with complex replication topologies • Collaborate via mob programming in a real-time development environment • Practice Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure resilient foundational systems • Actively use AI tools to improve personal and team efficiency • Participate in supportive on-call rotations **Required Experience:** • 8+ years of software development with proficiency in a modern programming language (Go, Java, Kotlin, or Python) • 8+ years building highly scalable, highly available applications • 3+ years with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.) • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and MySQL database internals • REST API development, documentation, and support experience • 1+ year professional experience leveraging AI tools • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent) • US work eligibility required **Ideal Candidate:** • Comfortable with mob programming and collective code ownership • Strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges • Excellent verbal and written communication • Genuine interest in team-centric engineering practices **Compensation & Benefits:** 💰 **US Base Salary:** $175,000 - $245,000 USD ✓ Employer-subsidized medical/vision/dental coverage ✓ 401k match (50% up to 6% of eligible pay) ✓ Monthly work stipend ✓ Flexible Time Away + Sick Time ✓ Life insurance, short/long-term disability ✓ 12 paid holidays + up to 24 weeks parental leave ✓ Professional development (Udemy access) ✓ Telework options from registered US locations **Equal Opportunity Employer:** Smartsheet is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and provides equal opportunities to all qualified applicants.
