About this role
**Senior Healthcare Application Developer (Remote Opportunity)** We are currently looking for a **Senior Healthcare Application Developer** for a **100% remote** position supporting a large **federal government healthcare modernization** project. This role develops **secure, scalable healthcare applications** and **reusable components** using **FHIR data** and **interoperability services**. --- ## What You’ll Do - Design, develop, implement, and support healthcare applications and reusable components using **FHIR** and standardized interoperability services - Develop the **SMART on FHIR** application framework, prioritized healthcare applications, and **CDS Hooks** services - Build **digital quality-measure** and **HEDIS** capabilities and integrate applications with clinical and quality data services - Translate business and technical requirements into secure, scalable solutions for clinical, payer-provider, public-health, and quality-reporting use cases - Develop application logic, user-facing workflows, backend services, and integration components - Collaborate with solution architects, FHIR/interface engineers, testers, and external partners on testing, troubleshooting, documentation, deployment, and knowledge transfer - Take on additional tasks as needed to support team objectives --- ## Requirements - **Bachelor’s degree** and **7+ years** of related application development experience - Experience developing **modern web applications** (front-end and back-end) - Experience building and integrating **RESTful APIs** using **JSON** and **SQL** - Experience with **Java** (or similar) and **JavaScript or TypeScript** - Ability to analyze business and technical requirements and solve complex application/integration problems - Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work independently and provide technical leadership when needed --- ## Additional Qualifications (Preferred) - Experience with **FHIR**, **SMART on FHIR**, **CDS Hooks**, or **EHR integration** - Experience with **digital quality measures**, **HEDIS**, or clinical/quality data services - Experience supporting federal **Health IT** programs (e.g., **VA, DHA, HHS**) --- ## Security Clearance Requirements - **U.S. Citizenship required** - All selected candidates must successfully complete a **background check** - Ability to obtain and maintain a **Government/Public Trust clearance**, including required fingerprinting when required --- ## Location / Eligibility - Candidate must reside within the **continental US** --- ## Benefits - **Medical / Dental / Vision** - **401(k)** with employer match - **PTO + Federal Holidays** - **Corporate laptop** - **Training opportunities** - **Remote opportunity** --- *VetsEZ is an equal opportunity employer.
