As an AI-native company, we expect team members to use AI tools thoughtfully, apply human judgment to AI outputs, and keep building AI fluency in ways that support their role and our mission. --- **Role overview** The Senior Director, Product, Platform Intelligence will lead the strategy, roadmap, and business impact of seven teams spanning two pillars of Spring’s R&D organization: - **Platform pods:** foundational systems that power how members access and move through Spring’s services, and how internal teams configure and operate the product. - **Intelligence pods:** data and AI infrastructure that enables every team at Spring to build, ship, and scale intelligent features quickly and safely. **Location / work model** - **Hybrid role based in San Francisco** - Expect to be in the office **2–3 days per week** at **44 Montgomery Street** - Candidates must be based in the **San Francisco metro area** or able to **relocate independently within 90 days** - **Occasional travel** for team on-sites --- **What you’ll do** - Own the **end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, and business impact** for the seven teams across Platform Intelligence, advancing a unified vision for how these systems work together to strengthen Spring’s product and competitive position. - Lead and develop a team of **Product Managers** across both pillars—setting the bar for strategic thinking, solution definition, and cross-functional influence. - Drive a unified **prioritization framework** across structurally different teams (reliability/operational systems vs. emerging AI/data capabilities), ensuring both pillars are resourced appropriately and aligned to business impact. - Identify and champion **platform and infrastructure investments** that unlock future competitive differentiation—especially those leveraging Spring’s distinctive data assets. - Build strong alignment with executive stakeholders (engineering, clinical, legal, product leadership) on complex platform/infrastructure priorities—translating technical constraints/opportunities into business language and making credible, evidence-based cases for major investments. --- **What success looks like** - Platform reliability and performance meet clear service-level standards. - Measurable increase in adoption and self-serve usage of AI/ML and data platform capabilities across feature teams, with reduced time-to-ship for AI/data-dependent features. - Feature teams use platform and intelligence capabilities to ship faster **and** deliver smarter, more personalized member experiences. - Platform architecture is flexible and composable (not brittle), enabling new capabilities without extensive rework and absorbing changing requirements (new use cases, models, regulations) without breaking downstream systems. - Cross-pod road
