This is a **hybrid** role based in **Santa Clara, CA**, reporting to the **Architect, Software Development Engineering** in the **Zero Trust Branch** department. You will drive the **quality strategy** for **Zero Trust Networking Services**, validating complex network security architectures and end-to-end interactions between **branch networking devices** and **global SASE cloud services** through **customer-centric scenarios**. --- ## What you’ll do (Role Expectations) - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to **design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software solutions** - Leverage deep expertise in **L2–L7 technology** to test **cloud-delivered security** and **SD-WAN** technologies - Build **repeatable, robust system-level automation suites** to validate **L2–L7** technologies - Provide critical insights and recommendations to enhance **RASS**, **debugging capabilities**, and overall **product usability** - Design and execute scenarios that mimic **real-world production environments** to proactively expose gaps and ensure stability for seamless customer deployments --- ## Who you are (Success Profile) - Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment—see ambiguity as an opportunity for innovation and high-impact problem solving - Operate with strong ownership and integrity, driven by a passion for the engineering mission - Enjoy complex technical puzzles and proactively seek challenging scenarios to deliver scalable outcomes - Bring empathy for end-users—keep customer needs central to architecture and validation strategy - Maintain urgency and execution focus—balance speed and quality to deliver for the team and customers --- ## What we’re looking for (Minimum Qualifications) - Foundational understanding of **AI/ML** technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes in your domain - **12+ years** overall experience in **Network Security, SD-WAN, or Networking Infrastructure testing**, with strong proficiency in **Python** for tool development - Proven expertise building and maintaining **test automation frameworks** from the ground up; experience using **Terraform** or **CloudFormation** for complex cloud test environments - Deep understanding of **L2–L7 networking**, **TCP/IP stack internals**, and **performance testing** methodologies using industry-standard traffic generators - Strong exposure to **SD-WAN**, **VPNs**, and **Cloud Security architectures**, plus advanced knowledge of **Linux networking** concepts - Solid understanding of modern tunneling methods such as **IPsec** or **GRE**, and hands-on experience with **public cloud networking** in **AWS** or **GCP** --- ## What will make you stand out (Preferred Qualifications) - Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency - Demonstrated ability to translate a holistic view of the product into complex test scenarios that accurately simulate real-world deployments - Experience with industry-standard traffic generation tools and methodologies -
