**Software Engineer, DevOps** **About the Team** OpenAI's Hardware organization develops AI-native silicon and system-level solutions for advanced AI workloads. The team is building future generations of AI-native silicon and integrated systems to power frontier models. **About the Role** You will define and build CI/CD systems that qualify frontier models and the software stack running on OpenAI's custom AI accelerators. Your work will make correctness, performance, and stability measurable on every change. **Key Responsibilities** • Define model CI strategy for frontier models on custom silicon • Build production CI/CD pipelines for regression, benchmarking, and release qualification • Design representative test matrices across models, configurations, and environments • Create reliable performance baselines and regression detection workflows • Establish GitOps practices for reproducible configuration and environment consistency • Shape monorepo architecture and developer workflows at scale • Develop scalable orchestration and artifact management for accelerator-backed CI • Partner with model, compiler, kernel, and hardware teams • Improve CI reliability, speed, and cost efficiency **Ideal Candidate** • Experience building large-scale CI/CD, developer infrastructure, or production engineering systems • Knowledge of modern software delivery practices (GitOps, release promotion, reproducibility) • Experience with monorepos, build systems, and dependency management • Proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, C++, or similar infrastructure languages • Background with distributed systems, containers, or heterogeneous compute • Strong focus on reliability, observability, and developer experience **About OpenAI** OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company dedicated to ensuring that general-purpose AI benefits all of humanity.
