**SpaceX — Sr. Data Center Administrator** SpaceX is looking for a **Sr. Data Center Administrator** to help build and manage data center infrastructure. You’ll install and manage **server, network, and power systems**, perform **performance tuning and QA**, and collaborate on strategies to improve data center operations. --- **Responsibilities** - Resolve operational, infrastructure, or hardware incidents across multiple data centers - Manage the full lifecycle of data center hardware (deployment, operation, decommission) - Physically rack and cable data center equipment - Track and logically organize incoming equipment storage - Perform QA testing and resolve recurring issues - Schedule and track hardware maintenance tasks - Update port maps and rack layouts; create operational procedures - Monitor environmental conditions and power/cooling systems to ensure optimal performance - Run hardware diagnostics and replace failing parts in a timely manner - Upgrade internal system components (CPUs, memory, storage) - Set up and operate common **Linux and Windows** servers - Document processes and maintain event logs - Partner with purchasing on procurement of new data center equipment --- **Basic Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline **and 3+ years** of data center experience; **or** 5+ years of data center experience in lieu of a degree - Professional experience working in a data center or with IT hardware --- **Preferred Skills and Experience** - Certifications related to IT infrastructure (e.g., **CompTIA Server+**, **CompTIA Network+**, **CCNP**) - Experience with **DCIM** tools for monitoring/measurement/utilization management - In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment - Extensive experience installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment - Linux and Windows OS administration experience - Power and data center cooling capacity planning experience - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - Experience with multiple vendor hardware architectures - Experience with server management tools (e.g., **HPE iLO**, **Cisco CIMC**, **Dell iDRAC**) --- **Additional Requirements** - Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed - Ability to pass a **DOD background check** for launch site access - Ability to drive (active valid driver’s license) --- **ITAR Requirements** To comply with U.S. Government export regulations, applicants must be one of the following: **(i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158**, or be eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. --- SpaceX is an **Equal Opportunity Employer**.
