**SpaceX is hiring: Splunk Engineer** SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars, and this role helps protect and drive the mission by supporting a distributed Splunk environment at enterprise scale. **Responsibilities** - Deploy, administer, and support a distributed Splunk environment at an enterprise scale - Standardize Splunk agent and enterprise deployment, configuration, and management using automation - Monitor and maintain the logging platform’s performance, availability, and capacity - Write complex SPLs to support Infosec and other IT teams with dashboards and alerts - Troubleshoot Splunk instances and Splunk Universal Forwarder problems - Perform data onboarding, governance, enrichment, and fields extraction for various use cases **Basic Qualifications** - 2+ years of experience administering or implementing Splunk in a professional setting - Experience writing complex regex for field mappings and identifying patterns - Experience with Puppet, Ansible, or other automation frameworks **Preferred Skills and Experience** - Splunk certifications (e.g., Enterprise Certified Architect, Enterprise Security Admin, Core Consultant) - Familiarity integrating enterprise applications and onboarding new log sources - Familiarity with aerospace, satellite communications, launch vehicle, or factory-floor logging environments - Knowledge of the Common Information Model (CIM) and how it maps to knowledge objects - Experience maintaining on-prem Splunk Core and Splunk Enterprise Security deployments supporting hundreds of users - Experience identifying visibility gaps for SOC detections and onboarding custom data sources into Splunk - Experience with System Administration, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering - Experience developing/extending Splunk with Python (custom commands, modular inputs, alert actions, or apps) - Knowledge of Splunk SOAR (or equivalent) and integrating Splunk with EDR, threat intel, or other security tools - Experience applying Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK) or similar for anomaly detection - Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code practices for Splunk configurations and knowledge objects - Advanced Linux systems knowledge for large-scale Splunk clusters - Experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 environments with strict uptime and rapid incident response **Additional Requirements** - Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed - Onsite role only (hybrid/remote not considered) **Compensation and Benefits** - **Pay Range:** - Level 1: **$130,000.00 – $165,000.00** - Level 2: **$150,000.00 – $200,000.00** - Base salary is part of a broader rewards package including potential long-term incentives (stock/long-term cash awards), discretionary bonuses, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan - Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage; 401(k); disability and life insurance; paid parental leave - Paid vacation (3 weeks) and 10+ paid holidays per year; sick time per applicable law - Company shuttles from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office (Mon–Fri) **ITAR Requirements** - Applicant must be a U.S. citizen/national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), Refugee, Asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
