## Anduril Industries — Software Engineer, GNC ### About the Team Anduril’s **Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software** team builds advanced software integrations and algorithms to solve complex, real-world problems. Working in small, innovative teams, you’ll help deliver mission-critical capabilities and measure success by real-world impact. The team focuses on groundbreaking results in **path planning, route optimization, and autonomous mission execution** at the command and control layer. ### What You Will Do - Contribute hands-on to a small, collaborative team applying expertise in **path planning** and **route optimization**. - Prototype and help deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for **global/local path planning**, **trajectory optimization**, and **multi-agent coordination**. - Develop **online (real-time) path planning** that safely replans as mission conditions, threats, and vehicle states change. - Design and develop **high-performance real-time C2 software** for operational platforms, including: - operator-facing mission planning tools - autonomous tasking and routing services orchestrating fleets of unmanned systems - strong emphasis on **asynchronous programming, concurrency,** and **reliable execution** in resource-constrained environments - Implement robust **planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems** for safe, feasible, optimal routes in dynamic, uncertain, contested environments. - Analyze system performance using **high-fidelity simulations**, modeling tools, and statistical techniques. - Support customer success by building algorithms/software for mission-critical use cases such as **collaborative autonomy**, **asset routing**, and **obstacle/threat avoidance**. - Integrate planning technologies into the broader C2 software stack and development lifecycle (requirements → testing → optimization). - Communicate technical progress into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, operators, and end-users. ### Required Qualifications - **3+ years** experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling; programming expertise in **C/C++ and/or Rust**. - Strong knowledge of **path planning** techniques, including: - graph-based search (**A\***, **D\* Lite**) - sampling-based planners (**RRT**, **RRT\***, **PRM**) - online/real-time replanning approaches - Demonstrated experience in **GNC**; **trajectory optimization** and **trajectory prediction**; and/or predictive models for vehicle dynamics and weapon system effectiveness (e.g., **6-DoF simulation**, intercept analysis). - Solid applied math: **linear algebra**, **optimization**, **computational geometry**, **graph theory**. - Knowledge of **vehicle dynamics**, **kinematic constraints**, and **control theory** for autonomous ground/air/maritime platforms tasked through C2 systems (including high-speed aerial vehicles). - Familiarity with **map representations**, **terrain reasoning**, **state estimation**, and efficient handling of large-scale geospatial/environmental data in distributed C2 architectures. - Exposure to **machine learning** for planning/decision-making (e.g., reinforcement learning, learned heuristics, behavior prediction). - Ability to write robust **concurrent** code for planning under uncertainty in complex, dynamic, contested environments. - Demonstrated ability to work across the development lifecycle from prototyping to optimizing production systems. - Eligible to obtain and maintai
