About this role
## Anduril Industries — Software Engineer (Surface Dominance) ### About Anduril Anduril is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by **Lattice OS**, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real-time, 3D command and control center. ### About the Team (Maritime Division) Anduril’s Maritime Division builds software and hardware solutions for next-generation autonomous systems for challenging maritime operations. The team is fielding an ultra-long-range, full-ocean-depth underwater vessel platform and a refreshed maritime vehicle and manufacturing architecture that scales from “small” to “extra-large.” The core remit is to architect a **system-of-systems** that combines and orchestrates disparate sensors and platforms to deliver coherent effects—enabling end-to-end execution of autonomous missions in the maritime domain. ### About the Job Software Engineers independently drive delivery of software integrated into Anduril products, including: - autonomy - simulation - data processing - payload integration - off-board command and control and decision support You’ll demonstrate **end-to-end outcome ownership** at the major subsystem or system level and contribute as a technical lead across the product life-cycle. ### What You’ll Do - Empathize with end-users and balance their needs with external constraints in a multi-stakeholder environment - Own software-enabled solutions deployed to customers, optimizing for end-user value - Design and implement scalable software with a clear path for architecture and capability evolution - Contribute to software services across Anduril to build reusable components across product lines - Develop software that runs on- and off- robotic platforms using a variety of technologies - Help design, implement, and execute development processes (including full lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operation) - Create test and simulation fixtures supporting both software- and hardware-in-the-loop - Support vehicle manufacturing and deployment - Work in a multi-disciplinary team and mentor Software Engineers from differing backgrounds - Travel to co-locate with end-users and/or other teams (up to 20%) ### Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant field, or equivalent experience - Extensive professional experience as a Software Engineer across one or more domains/technologies - Systems/application programming skills: algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, software & system design - Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems - Ability to work holistically across the software stack through design, implementation, operation, and sustainment - Ability to act as technical owner for a software service (stakeholders, requirements, roadmap, coordination, design/implementation/sustainment) - Ability to learn and grow while mentoring junior team members and building team cohesion - Eligible to obtain and maintain an active **U.S. Secret** security clearance ### Preferred Qualifications - Experience delivering a military mission system - Backend services or embedded software in **C++, Rust, and/or Go** - Frontend applications using **TypeScript** and **React** - Horizontally scaled cloud technologies - Embedded software (especially robo
