We turn complex data into actionable research, trusted alpha-driven insights, and world-class events—helping investors and businesses build confidence in onchain capital markets. ### Who You Are - Passionate about backend and API development - A player-coach and natural leader who understands both technical and human aspects of great software design - Results-oriented, focused on flawless releases and building strong CI/CD-driven product pipelines - Excited to help shape backend strategy from the ground floor - Enjoys designing and maintaining scalable API services that handle large volumes of data - Comfortable moving fast in a startup environment while bringing intentionality, sustainability, and scalability ### What You’ll Do You’ll design, build, and maintain the systems powering Blockworks products end-to-end, including: - Architect, build, and ship backend systems that scale to millions of requests/day - Design, implement, and optimize APIs for research and media products - Own database design, optimization, and reliability (MySQL/Postgres) - Implement caching and performance strategies (e.g., Redis) - Lead backend feature development from planning through production release - Diagnose and resolve scalability, performance, and reliability issues under real-world load - Raise the bar on testing, monitoring, and observability - Collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to ensure seamless integrations ### What You’ve Done Before - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience) - 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience with strong backend architecture focus - Strong TypeScript + Node.js background - Built fast, reliable API endpoints (including systems handling 1M+ requests/day) - Mature approach to automated testing, monitoring, and observability - Proficient with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including data modeling and query optimization - Experience enhancing performance/scalability with caching (e.g., Redis) - Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tools - Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, maintainable, reusable code ### It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This - NestJS and TypeORM (or similar database access layers) - Experience supporting legacy migrations in PHP - AWS cloud infrastructure familiarity - Exposure to ML/AI models - Hands-on experience in the crypto space ### Salary & Benefits - **Salary:** $190,000–$210,000/year (full-time, exempt) - **Remote-first** with an NYC office available - **100% medical coverage** for you (and significant dependent coverage) - **Flexible PTO** - **14 weeks fully paid parental leave** - **Hardware stipend** - **Learning & Growth stipend** - Clear career growth structure - Global, diverse, inclusive team ### Apply Blockworks is an equal opportunity employer and participates in E-Verify.
