**Chief Technology Officer (CTO)** **About ACTAI** ACTAI is building proactive applications for people who aren’t AI-native—bringing intelligence to conversations, errands, organising, and workflows with minimal to no prompting. The product focuses on high reliability for long-running workflows, persistent context, and real-world task completion. **About the Role** The CTO will own technology strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across the Group. This is a technical leadership role that operates across multiple businesses while staying close to systems, architecture, and engineering execution. **What You Will Be Doing** - Own architecture and major technical decisions across group products and platforms - Review critical systems, architecture, infrastructure, and code directly - Set engineering standards across reliability, security, performance, testing, and code quality - Identify technical debt and architecture constraints, and drive their resolution - Improve engineering productivity, development speed, and production reliability - Decide where technology and infrastructure should be shared across Group businesses - Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering leaders **What You Will Need** - Deep software engineering background with experience building and scaling production systems - Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems - Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams - Strong technical judgement and ability to challenge engineering decisions at implementation level - Capable of building world-class engineering teams - Still technically hands-on—able to review code, architecture, incidents, and difficult engineering problems directly
