Partners include **Amazon, UPS, USPS, eBay, BigCommerce, Shopify, WooCommerce, and Walmart**. **About the role** We’re seeking an experienced **Senior Software Engineer (.NET)** to architect and build scalable backend systems across our modern tech stack. This position is focused on the **ShipStation API** brand. - **Hybrid:** 3 days per week in office (**Tuesday–Thursday**) - **Location:** **Austin, TX** **What you will be doing** - **System Architecture & Design:** Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using **C# and .NET** - **API Development:** Create and consume secure **REST APIs** for backend-to-frontend/mobile communication - **Database Management:** Design, query, and optimize **SQL and NoSQL** databases - **Code Quality & Best Practices:** Perform code reviews, enforce engineering standards, and write clean, maintainable production code - **Mentorship:** Provide technical guidance and mentorship to mid-level and junior developers - **DevOps & Cloud:** Collaborate on **CI/CD**, deploy to **AWS**, and maintain environments - **Testing:** Build and maintain unit and integration tests **What are we looking for?** **Required Technologies** - **.NET:** ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, RESTful APIs; C# design patterns; async programming - **AWS:** EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, SQS, API Gateway; infrastructure as code (Terraform/CloudFormation/CDK) - **React:** Some experience with React or similar component libraries **Additional Skills** - DevOps background - Strong database design (SQL + NoSQL) - Containerization (**Docker**) and orchestration - AuthN/AuthZ patterns (**OAuth, JWT**) - Microservices architecture and distributed systems - **Git** and CI/CD pipelines - Monitoring, logging, and performance optimization **Nice to Have** - TypeScript - Event-driven architectures and message queues - Caching strategies (Redis, CDN) **AI-assisted development** We embrace AI-assisted development and expect engineers to use AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar) responsibly to accelerate development while maintaining code quality and security standards.
