**Waymo — 2027 Summer Intern (MS/PhD), Software Engineering — Sys Intel & ML** Waymo is an autonomous driving technology company on a mission to be the world’s most trusted driver. The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and is built to improve access to mobility while saving lives. **Software Engineering** builds the brains of Waymo’s autonomous driving technology—enabling the Waymo Driver to perceive the world, make decisions, and deliver people safely. **Subteam:** Software non-determinism diagnostics team --- ### You will: - Design and build infrastructure and tooling to diagnose software non-determinism across autonomous driving systems - Investigate and resolve non-deterministic execution patterns across Waymo codebases ### You have: - Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in software engineering or a related technical field - Strong programming skills in **C++** - Solid foundation in algorithms, data structures, and systems debugging ### We prefer: - Experience with statistical data analysis, anomaly detection, or tracing tools - Understanding of common sources of software non-determinism (e.g., concurrency/race conditions, floating-point determinism, etc.) - Experience with graph execution frameworks --- ### General Perks - Help solve challenging problems with direct impact on the company - Competitive compensation packages with a housing/relocation bonus (if applicable) - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Fun intern events and networking opportunities ### Onsite Perks - Free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks - Free access to Google shuttles - Onsite gym --- **Note:** This is a hybrid onsite internship position.
