You’ll build and operate security tooling (e.g., **SIEM**, **vulnerability management**, **automation**) to keep systems compliant and secure, and provide engineering input supporting **RMF/JSIG authorization** activities. --- ## What You’ll Own - Design and implement security controls across cloud-based systems (e.g., **IAM**, **encryption**, **network security**) - Engineer and administer security tooling, including: - **SIEM** (Splunk) - **Vulnerability management** (Nessus/ACAS) - **STIG compliance** tools - Build **security-as-code automation** for deploying/configuring security tooling (e.g., **Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python**) - Provide technical input into **RMF authorization artifacts** (e.g., **SSP, SCTM, POA&Ms, Risk Assessment Reports**) - Develop and tune **incident detection** (detections, alerting, and telemetry improvements) - Perform technical **compliance reviews** against IA directives, including protection of data across classification levels --- ## What You’ll Deliver - Security architecture and controls implemented and functioning across supported cloud environments - Working SIEM and vulnerability management tooling that provides real visibility into risk - Engineering-grounded inputs to RMF documentation that hold up under authorization review - Detections and alerting that measurably improve incident response time and coverage - Automated, repeatable deployment/configuration of security tooling (not manual one-offs) --- ## Here’s What You Need - **3+ years** implementing **NIST 800-53** controls and the **Risk Management Framework (RMF)**, including **at least 1 year** administering security tooling such as: - **SIEM** (Splunk) - **Vulnerability management** (Nessus/ACAS) - Security automation (e.g., **Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python**) - **2+ years** experience with **virtualization or cloud environments** (**AWS or Azure**) - **DoD 8570 IASAE Level II** certification (e.g., **CISSP, CASP+**) or **DoD 8140 equivalent** - **Bachelor’s or Associate degree** in Computer Science/Cybersecurity (or related), **or 4+ years** relevant job/military experience in lieu of degree --- ## Bonus Points If You Have - AWS/Azure technical certifications and/or **Splunk certifications** (e.g., Splunk Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin) - Experience with **SOC/NOC** incident response teams - Familiarity with **container security** (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS/AKS) - **JSIG** or **ICD 503** compliance knowledge - Experience in a **DevSecOps** project environment - Familiarity with **National Security systems** and **air-gapped environments** --- ## Security Requirements - **Active TS clearance required**; **SCI preferred** --- ## Compensation (US locations) Base pay range: **$103,200 – $196,400 USD** (varies by location, role, skill set, and experience).
