**POSITION SUMMARY** A **Senior Software Engineer** focused on delivering an intuitive, efficient customer experience. You’ll build customer-facing web applications with a strong eye for UX and design, working closely with the Engineering Team, Product Managers, and Designers to create new experiences for customers. **PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES** - Collaborate with the architecture team and drive complex system design - Perform code reviews and mentor engineers with best practices - Lead key design and technical implementations for complex systems - Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and build scalable, reliable, developer-friendly **microservices APIs** - Design, build, and maintain sustainable systems supporting business applications - Continuously improve processes and evangelize best practices - Contribute to end-to-end compliance initiatives - Practice technical design, develop new functionality, and maintain existing components - Work with PHI regularly (paper and electronic) and use technologies to access PHI to perform the job - Complete required HIPAA/PHI privacy, compliance, and security training within the first 30 days of hire - Maintain current status on Natera training requirements **QUALIFICATIONS** - BS in computer science (or comparable program) or equivalent experience - 7+ years of software development experience, preferably secure, scalable web applications using **Java** and other web technologies - Object-oriented programming experience in Java; open-source frameworks such as **Spring** and **Hibernate** - Cloud experience (AWS preferred) - Front-end experience with **React**, **Sass**, **JavaScript** (plus) - Experience with **Ruby** and **Ruby on Rails** (plus) - Microservices enterprise architecture, cross-platform integration, and scalable applications in heterogeneous environments - Experience across the software development lifecycle (build, configuration, change control, release, and deployment) - Strong relational database skills (design and optimization) - Demonstrated teamwork and analytical background - Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES** - Object-Oriented Programming - Spring Framework - Relational databases and SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL preferred) - AWS services (e.g., SQS, S3, SNS) - Docker/container-oriented technologies - REST APIs and event-driven microservice architecture - Front-end technologies (e.g., React, Sass, Gulp, Rails, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) - Linux fundamentals - CI/CD - Quality assurance mindset **OUR OPPORTUNITY** Natera™ is a global leader in cell-free DNA (cfDNA) testing, dedicated to oncology, women’s health, and organ health—aiming to make personalized genetic testing and diagnostics part of the standard of care. **WHAT WE OFFER** - Competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, life, disability for eligible employees and dependents) - Free testing for employees and immediate families, plus fertility care benefits - Pregnancy and baby bonding leave, 401k benefits, commuter benefits, and more - Generous employee referral program **PAY RANGE (REMOTE USA)** **$125,000 — $156,300 USD** *Note: Actual compensation packages vary based on factors such as skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and office location.*
