**Software Engineer, Applied AI Solutions** *Applications accepted on an ongoing basis.* ## About the Opportunity Contentful is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Applied AI product line, with a primary focus on **Marketplace**. In this role, you’ll help build, maintain, and grow the systems, apps, and workflows that expand what customers can do with Contentful. You’ll work across the Marketplace surface area and adjacent Applied AI tooling—delivering high-impact apps, improving the contribution and review pipeline, and scaling how internal and external developers build on top of Contentful. While Marketplace is the primary focus, you may also contribute across adjacent Applied AI areas like **Extensibility** and **Developer Experience** when priorities call for it. This is ideal for an engineer strong in front-end product work (but not limited to it): someone comfortable moving between **React**, **Node.js services**, **APIs**, **developer tooling**, and **production operations** as needed. We’re seeking a product-minded full-stack engineer who enjoys strong cross-functional collaboration and taking ownership of software through its full lifecycle in production. We’re also evolving how we build software—using **AI-assisted development workflows** to accelerate delivery, reduce menial workload, and improve leverage across the software development lifecycle. We’re looking for someone excited to experiment with these tools and apply strong engineering instincts to get the most out of them. **Hybrid role:** office attendance in **Denver** expected **2 days per week (Tuesday, Thursday)**. ## What To Expect - Design, build, and maintain Marketplace features, apps, and supporting services that improve the experience for both app builders and app installers. - Contribute to systems and tooling that help Contentful teams and partners bring new apps and integrations to market faster. - Contribute across adjacent Applied AI problem spaces (extensibility workflows, developer tooling, internal platform capabilities, and backend services supporting developers building on Contentful). - Improve contribution workflows, trust & safety checks, maintainability, and operational quality across Marketplace and Applied AI surfaces. - Partner closely with product, design, and engineers across Applied AI to shape solutions for meaningful customer and business problems. - Generalize, polish, and productionize internally built apps and Applied AI contributions so they can be supported long-term by Marketplace Engineering. - Own software in production: debugging, improving observability, strengthening reliability, and participating in support/operational responsibilities. - Use AI-assisted workflows across planning, implementation, debugging, and documentation where they create real leverage. - Help improve how the team uses AI in engineering by sharing practices, refining workflows, and contributing to a healthy engineering culture around quality and speed. ## What You Need To Be Successful - ~**4–7 years** of relevant software engineering experience. - Strong experience building and maintaining **production systems**. - Solid experience with **TypeScript** and **Node.js**, plus experience building user-facing product surfaces in **React** (or similar). - Clear strength in front-end engineering, with real comfort contributing to **backend services, APIs, and developer-facing tooling** (not only UI). - Experience designing and evolving **APIs, in
