## Full-Stack Engineer (Contract, Palo Alto) We’re seeking a dynamic, self-driven **Full-Stack Engineer (Contractor)** to help build the first-mile operations platform for a global food producer—**a suite of applications** that farm and logistics teams use to run operations. You’ll take working prototypes into production, integrate with an API owned by a separate team, and build reliable, easy-to-use experiences. ### What You’ll Do - **Prototype building:** Web and mobile interfaces for fast experimentation and validation - **Web app delivery:** Responsive, **bilingual (EN/ES)** web interface including authentication, deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, error tracking, and other quality-of-life services - **Data integration:** Connect to partner API layer and live GPS feeds from third-party providers - **Contribute to tech direction:** Participate in stack/architecture/scope discussions with supporting documentation ### The Must-Haves - **Build-to-learn mindset:** Ability to build quick throwaway prototypes, then harden what works for production (error handling, security, tests, monitoring) - **Production experience:** **7+ years** building and maintaining web applications for real users; strong **React + TypeScript**, comfortable with backend (**Node.js or Python**), and able to design relational databases - **AI-assisted development:** Use AI coding tools effectively and know what needs verification (we use **Claude Code**) - **Infrastructure ownership:** Handle deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, auth, and secrets management without a platform team - **Real-time systems:** Experience shipping user-facing product built on live/near-real-time data; can explain trade-offs (latency, consistency, cost) to non-technical stakeholders ### The Nice-to-Haves - **Business-level Spanish** - **React Native and mobile depth** - **Geospatial and telemetry experience** (Mapbox, Leaflet, deck.gl, PostGIS; satellite imagery like Copernicus Sentinel-2; time-series/sensor pipelines) - **Conversational interfaces** (e.g., WhatsApp Business API or similar) ### Contract Details - **Duration:** 3-month full-time contract (**40 hours/week**) - **Rate:** **$110–$160/hour** - **Potential extension** based on project needs and contractor performance - **Travel:** Occasional travel may be required If you identify with Moon’s values, please submit your **resume** and an **optional cover letter**. **Equal Opportunity Employer:** Moon Creative Lab considers applicants for all roles without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex, national origin, citizenship status, age, disability, sexual orientation, marital/parental status, veteran/military status, unfavorable discharge, or any other protected status under applicable law.
