## Software Engineer Intern (Core, Infrastructure & Security) — Spring 2027 ### About the role At Snowflake, we’re powering the era of the agentic enterprise. This internship spans three technically demanding engineering domains: - **Core Engineering** - **Infrastructure Automation** - **Security Engineering** You’ll build the systems, automation, and trust layers that underpin Snowflake’s global data platform. --- ### What we offer - **Paid, full-time internships** - Exposure to a **fast-paced, fun, inclusive culture** - Work with **world-class experts** on challenging projects - Opportunity to make **meaningful contributions** to a real system used by customers - **High level of access** to supervisors (manager and mentor), detailed direction without micromanagement, feedback throughout, and a final evaluation - Treated as a **member of the Snowflake team** (included in meetings/activities) - **Flexible hours**, casual dress code, **work-from-home accommodations**, swag - **Catered lunches**, access to gaming consoles, recreational games, happy hours, company outings, and more --- ### What we expect - Must be **actively enrolled** in an accredited college/university during the internship - **Desired class level:** 3rd/4th year undergraduates, Masters, or PhD - **Desired majors:** Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field - **Required coursework:** algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, operating systems - **Recommended coursework:** cloud computing, database systems, distributed systems, cryptography & authentication, networking - **Bonus experience:** research/publications in security, distributed systems, or systems programming; contributions to open source --- ### Dates & duration - **When:** Spring 2027 - **Eligible start dates:** January 4, 2027 **or** January 19, 2027 - **Eligible end dates:** March 26, 2027 **or** April 9, 2027 **or** May 7, 2027 - **Duration:** 12 week minimum, 16 weeks recommended (12 month maximum) --- ### Technical skills - Excellent programming skills in **Java, C++, Go, and/or Python** - Preferred: **C++20/C++17** or **Java 20/Java 17** - Knowledge of **data structures and algorithms** - Systems programming skills (e.g., **multi-threading**, **concurrency**) - DevOps tooling (e.g., **Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform**) and containerization (e.g., **Kubernetes, Docker**) a plus - Strong problem solving and ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment - Experience working as part of a team - Dedication and passion for technology --- ### What you will learn/gain - How to build **enterprise-grade, reliable, trustworthy** software/services - Exposure to **SQL** and/or database technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) - Exposure to **security, cryptography, access control**, and identity & access management - Understanding of **database internals**, large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and data warehouse design - Experience building **automation frameworks** and infrastructure to improve engineering productivity - Experience delivering quality software in large distributed systems with emphasis on **functional and performance automation** - Experience working with **cloud infrastructure** (AWS, Azure, and/
