**Software Engineer Intern (Database Engineering) - Spring 2027** **About the Role** Join Snowflake's Database Engineering team as a Software Engineer Intern. Work on enterprise-grade software including query engines, FoundationDB key-value store, and hybrid transactional & analytical processing systems. **What You'll Do** • Implement and test features in query compilation, compiler design, and query execution • Work on high-performance large-scale data processing and distributed systems • Contribute to real systems used by customers • Gain exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) **Requirements** • Currently enrolled in accredited college/university (3rd/4th year undergrad, Masters, or PhD preferred) • Major in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or related field • Required coursework: algorithms, data structures, software engineering, operating systems • Excellent programming skills in C++ or Java • Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and systems programming (multi-threading, concurrency) • Strong problem-solving and ability to learn quickly **Preferred Qualifications** • C++20/C++17 or Java 20/Java 17 experience • Coursework in cloud computing, compilers, databases, distributed systems, networking • Research/publications in databases or distributed systems • Open source contributions • Big data engineering/processing experience **What We Offer** • Paid, full-time internship • Mentorship from world-class experts • Flexible hours, casual dress code, work-from-home options • Catered lunches, gaming, company events, and swag • High access to managers and mentors with detailed feedback **Timeline** • Start: January 4 or January 19, 2027 • End: March 26, April 9, or May 7, 2027 • Duration: 12 weeks minimum, 16 weeks recommended For salary and benefits, visit careers.snowflake.com
