**PathAI — Machine Learning Intern/Co-op** *PathAI’s mission is to improve patient outcomes with AI-powered pathology.* ## Overview Join PathAI’s Intern/Co-op program for a real-world view of what it’s like to be a Machine Learning Engineer. You’ll be embedded with our **AI product** and **ML Core** teams, working on active projects that impact our technical roadmap and business goals. **Timeline:** Fall 2026 / Winter 2027 (3–6 months; **4–6 months preferred**) **Location:** Boston, MA and New York, NY; potential for remote US-based candidates. **Onsite 3 days/week is highly preferred.** ## What You’ll Do - Contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of machine learning models for AI products, AI services, and core ML models - Work on subprojects derived from the ML product roadmap (e.g., model improvements using novel techniques) - Partner with MLOps and platform teams to build and improve ML pipelines - Participate in experimental design, analysis, and knowledge-sharing (design reviews, technical forums, journal clubs) ## Who You Are - Enrolled in an **M.S. or Ph.D.** in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering with a focus on **Computer Vision and Machine Learning** - Strong programming skills in **Python** and hands-on experience with ML frameworks (e.g., **PyTorch, TensorFlow**) - Demonstrated understanding of ML and/or computer vision fundamentals - Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment - Passion to improve patient lives ## Preferred - Experience working on complex open-source projects and/or AI-based products - Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership activities - Contributions to AI/ML publications ## Compensation Expected salary range (Boston, MA): **$55–70 per hour**. Actual pay depends on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
