**Bitwarden — Senior Front-End Software Engineer (Autofill)** Bitwarden empowers enterprises, developers, and individuals to securely store and share sensitive data. With an open-source approach to password management, secrets management, and passwordless/passkey innovations, Bitwarden helps users extend robust security practices across all online activities. **Role Overview** One of the most critical parts of the Bitwarden product is our **autofill and form detection**. These features are part of the **Bitwarden browser extension**, enabling the extension to fill form fields with a user’s data and detect new logins to store in Bitwarden. You’ll join an all-remote team (North America) responsible for maintaining and continually improving these capabilities—ensuring they evolve with the latest web UI patterns across all browsers. **Responsibilities** - Become an expert and authority on Bitwarden’s browser extension autofill and form change detection - Develop and maintain a full suite of browser UI automation tests - Continually improve the autofill and form detection experience as new UI patterns emerge - Participate in code reviews, learning, and spreading technical knowledge - Occasionally contribute bug fixes submitted by the user community **What You Bring to Bitwarden** - Deep understanding of browser UI behavior, including DOM manipulation and content scripts - Proficiency in vanilla JavaScript and a modern framework such as **Angular (preferred)**, React, or Vue - Understanding of browser extension development - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to find and communicate solutions - Experience documenting complex technical solutions and sharing knowledge with the team - Proficiency with source control (e.g., Git, SVN, Subversion, TFS) - Collaborative, adaptable mindset - Openness/authenticity with excellent communication skills - Enthusiasm for open source and better internet security **Interview Process (What to Expect)** Selected candidates may progress through: - Introduction call - Meeting with Recruiting Manager - Interview with Hiring Manager - Interviews with team members - Reference calls **Additional Notes** - **All-remote** role; **based in North America** - **No visa sponsorship** at this time - Compensation (U.S. starting base range): **$140,000 – $200,000** (varies by level, experience, skills, and market) *Outside sourcers: Bitwarden does not accept solicitations from recruiters, recruiting agencies, headhunters, or outsourcing organizations.*
