## Machine Learning Engineer — Blissway **About Blissway** Blissway is a startup simplifying toll collection and improving highway safety. We’re a lean, fast-moving team (under 30) working across **Deep Tech, AI/ML, Hardware, SaaS, and IoT**—with real-world impact on the Interstate Highway System. --- ## YOU ARE A GOOD FIT IF… - **You love the grind:** You take ownership, meet deadlines, and can handle occasional **70+ hour bursts** around major releases. - **You’re detail obsessed:** You write code and build systems that hold up to the unpredictability of the physical world. - **You’re adaptable:** You’re comfortable helping across a lean team and figuring out what you need to get things done. - **You code really well:** You’re strong in engineering fundamentals (we mostly use **Python** and **TypeScript**, but we care that you learn fast). --- ## The Mission You’re the engineer who **ships the model**—not just trains it. Blissway processes **11 million images per day**, running **detection, segmentation, classification, embeddings, and re-identification** across the camera’s frame. You’ll own the full arc: **raw sensor data → production inference**, including **dataset curation → deployment monitoring**, and **cloud → edge**. --- ## The Work - **Own the whole pipeline:** Decide which problems to solve and take them end-to-end: **collection, dataset curation, training, deployment, monitoring, and iteration**. - **Real hardware in the real world:** We own field devices—ideas can be built, tested, and validated on real roads. - **Vision at real scale:** Process **11M images/day** for vehicles, license plates, wheels, lane markings, and more—plus additional sensors that broaden the problem space. - **Classical CV to custom SOTA:** Use traditional CV when appropriate, and train custom state-of-the-art models when off-the-shelf isn’t enough. - **Build the best models that exist:** Stay current with papers and conferences, and push toward the frontier. --- If you’re the kind of engineer who sees a model in a notebook and wants to put it to the test—**on the road**—you’ll fit right in.
