## Astranis — Software Developer, Network Software Associate (Winter 2027) Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated, secure networks for highly-sophisticated customers worldwide, including large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military. With five satellites on orbit and more launching soon, Astranis is servicing a backlog of $1B+ in commercial contracts. Associate Engineer positions typically last for **twelve weeks** and are **salaried roles** for students who have already received a bachelor’s degree (or will do so before starting). As an Associate Engineer, you’ll work on meaningful, challenging projects—often comparable in importance and difficulty to those given to full-time employees. Many past Associate Engineers have designed and tested hardware/software for space on Astranis’s first satellite and have gone on to full-time roles. > If you’re still a college student, please apply to join as an **Intern**. --- ### Role - Design and implement **UI components** and **back-end workflows** of satellite network management software - Work closely with **network operations** teams to build and manage satellite and ground networks - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define **software requirements, architecture, and design** ### Requirements - B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree - Experience with **Django** or similar frameworks - Experience working with **relational/SQL databases** (e.g., **Postgres**) - Comfortable rapidly prototyping and fully developing UI concepts with a focus on **user experience** - Demonstrated ability to personally design, write, and test software from scratch - Don’t meet every requirement? **Apply anyway** --- ### Compensation - **Base salary:** **$1,925 per week** --- ### Eligibility **U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required** (Per U.S. Government space technology export regulations.) --- ### Inclusion Astranis’ mission and products are built for everyone.
