## Lead Engineer, PLM Architecture & Digital Tools ### About the role Supernal is an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company developing an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle and the ground-to-air ecosystem. This role is part of the **Systems Engineering, Integration & Test** team and will help ensure Supernal’s engineering digital systems are **integrated, connected, modern, and positioned to enable a full digital thread** across the product value stream. You will incubate technologies leveraged in future production systems and partner frequently with **Operations** and **IT** to ensure engineering digital data can be leveraged to support a fully connected future. > **On-site requirement:** This position requires working on-site **5 days a week**. ### What you can do - Stand up and manage the **Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)** system and associated digital toolsets for product development (e.g., **CAD, CAE, Simulation, Program Management, Requirements Management**) - Evaluate integration of engineering tools with downstream operations digital tools to establish a digital backbone enabling the full digital thread - Assess connected factory / Industry 4.0 digital tools and advise Operations on potential benefits and technologies - Integrate with IT to ensure a **stable, secure, and reliable** platform - Administer engineering software license infrastructure, including installation/configuration/support of license managers such as **FlexNet, RLM, and Dassault Systèmes DSLS** - Administer databases such as **Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB** - Install and administer engineering applications on **Windows and Linux (Ubuntu)** servers - Develop **elastic server architecture** that scales with demand - Lead with deep understanding of the **3DEXPERIENCE data model** and guide the team to meet business goals using out-of-the-box capabilities - Architect and manage the **3DEXPERIENCE security model** to enable collaboration while protecting IP, enforcing access controls, and supporting export compliance - Translate PLM business requirements into scalable solution architectures; collaborate with external developers on customizations; ensure solutions meet business objectives and user needs - Administer enterprise engineering applications, including **Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE** and **IBM DOORS Next** - Plan budgets to maintain the digital tool landscape based on license utilization, emerging needs, and program phase - Negotiate with key software vendors and optimize license mix to maximize value - Mentor colleagues and train troubleshooting approaches, including aerospace-specific data hierarchies and security protocols - Potentially broaden into a leadership position in or outside the engineering organization ### What you can contribute - **Bachelor’s degree** in a relevant engineering or IT field (advanced degree preferred) - **Minimum 8 years** of aerospace experience leading digital tools engineering activities - Extensive understanding of modern **PLM/CAD** systems - Experience with **Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE** systems - Experience purchasing these systems and understanding licensing models - Experience leading teams - Experience with project management and tools/methodologies - Experience with aircraft development programs - Familiarity with business cases and justifying investments - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong listening and comprehension skills - Strong organi
