At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions. ## About Production Engineering **Production Engineering** is Ramp’s infrastructure ownership layer. We exist to make Ramp **faster, more reliable, and more scalable** by being embedded in the problems—not adjacent to them. ### How we operate - **One team, one company, one objective.** There’s no “infra team” vs “product team”—there is **Ramp**. - **If reliability or scalability is at risk, we own it.** We don’t wait to be invited or ask whose code it is. - **We go first, and we go fast.** When the path isn’t obvious, we move with urgency, align stakeholders, and stay until it’s done. - **We lead the way.** We solve the next problem before it finds us, and establish patterns/standards the rest of Ramp builds on. - **We stay calibrated.** Speed matters only if we’re moving in the right direction. ## Our teams Production Engineering is organized into teams, but teams are **mutable**—we build them around what needs to be done. Right now, we operate across four areas: - **Compute** — container orchestration, networking, load balancing, edge infrastructure, and deployment systems - **Storage** — databases, caching, object storage, and data infrastructure - **Workflows & Messaging** — systems powering Ramp’s financial workflows and event-driven architecture - **Internal Infrastructure** — observability, cost attribution, and CI/CD systems that make builders faster and more autonomous
