Recognized as **#1 in SMS Marketing (G2)** and trusted by **8,000+ customers across 70+ industries**, Attentive enables billions of interactions that power tens of billions in revenue for customers. **Role: Senior Engineering Manager, Platform (Data & Event)** **What you’ll do** - Lead the technical vision for the **Data and Event** team, aligning with company goals and driving strategic outcomes through innovative data solutions. - Oversee the design and implementation of **high-throughput data solutions** that are scalable, efficient, and capable of powering critical operations. - Partner with teams across **AI, ML, analytics, and other departments** to enhance and expand a self-service data platform. - Establish and uphold high standards for **data quality, governance, and system integration**, solving complex distributed data challenges. - Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team—fostering continuous learning, experimentation, and collaboration. - Balance and prioritize multiple projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives while maintaining technical excellence. - Manage **technical debt**, including long-term architecture decisions and balancing product roadmap needs. **Location / Work setup** - **100% remote** — must **reside in the US**; reports to HQ. **Minimum requirements** - Bachelor’s degree (or U.S. equivalent) in Computer Science, MIS, IT, or related field **plus 7+ years** of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or in roles involving design/development/oversight of large-scale data systems, distributed data platforms, or event-driven architectures. **Additional requirements (highlights)** - 5+ years leading technical design/implementation of scalable, high-throughput data systems or event-driven architectures. - 5+ years using backend/data engineering programming languages (**Java, Python, or Go**) and build/dependency tools for distributed systems. - 5+ years architecting/building/maintaining production data models and pipelines (SQL + NoSQL, dimensional modeling, distributed ETL/workflow orchestration). - 5+ years large-scale data processing with distributed computing/storage (SQL/NoSQL, in-memory stores, messaging/streaming, workflow/batch processing). - 5+ years using cloud platforms (**AWS, Azure, or GCP**) to design/deploy/manage scalable infrastructure (including containerized/service-oriented architectures). - 3+ years establishing/enforcing data quality, governance, or integration standards. - 3+ years collaborating cross-functionally (analytics, AI/ML, platform) to build/enhance self-service data platforms, APIs, or user-facing applications. - 3+ years managing/mentoring engineering teams (recruiting, performance development, experimentation/continuous improvement). - 3+ years prioritizing multiple concurrent technical projects and managing technical debt. - 2+ years using AI/ML-related frameworks/libraries (e.g., **Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch**). **How to apply** - Submit resume online: **www.attentivemobile.com/careers#jobs** - Or email: **careers@attentivemobile.com** - **Must specify Ad C
