## Full Stack Software Engineer — Global Finance Tech (GFT) ### About the role Liberty Mutual is seeking a **Full Stack Software Engineer** to join the **Global Enterprise Services** team within **Global Finance Tech (GFT)**, working on the **Jet Setters squad**. The squad owns a portfolio of **22 GFT products**, including: - Reservation System - Contracts Portal - Non-Employee Portal - Corporate Aviation Flight Approvals - Business Impact Analysis (BIA) You’ll design, build, and deliver **back-end and full-stack applications**, partnering with product owners, business partners, and engineers to create **secure, reliable, scalable solutions**—including **AI-powered capabilities**. ### Hybrid work & eligibility - **Hybrid schedule:** **2 days onsite** - Considering candidates based in **Portsmouth, NH** and **Boston, MA** - **Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future** (no visa sponsorship) ### What you’ll do - Design and develop application features and components; contribute to technical design discussions - Partner with senior/principal/solutions engineers to apply shared patterns, frameworks, and reusable components - Participate in code and design reviews; provide and receive constructive feedback - Build and maintain **automated testing, CI/CD, and observability** - Perform impact analysis and technical solutioning for assigned changes; escalate complex trade-offs as needed - Research technical alternatives for loosely defined problems and share recommendations - Provide production support: incident triage, root cause analysis, and defect resolution - Create and maintain technical specifications, design documentation, and production support artifacts - Contribute to development and integration of **AI-powered features** across existing and new product lines - Translate business needs into well-scoped technical work and estimates ### Qualifications - **Bachelor’s degree** in a technical or business discipline - **3+ years** of Full Stack Engineering experience - Working knowledge of **object-oriented design patterns** and common architectural patterns - Hands-on experience with several of: - **TypeScript, React, Node.js** - **AWS Lambda, AWS S3** - **SQL, Spring Boot** - **GitHub Actions** - Experience contributing to and supporting production applications - Exposure to **Agile** (e.g., Scrum) - Familiarity with **CI/CD** and automated testing practices - Strong collaboration, analytical/problem-solving, and communication skills ### Nice to have (AI & Emerging Technologies) - Familiarity with **AI/ML** concepts for software product development - Exposure to **LLM APIs** (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) - Awareness of **RAG** patterns (vector databases, embedding models) - Exposure to AI orchestration frameworks - Familiarity with prompt engineering best practices - Awareness of responsible AI principles (bias, explainability, data privacy) - Experience building/consuming APIs and microservices in a cloud-native environment (AWS preferred) - Experience with **GitHub Copilot** or similar tools (e.g., Claude Code) ### Pay & benefits - Salary range varies based on factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. - Liberty Mutual offers benefits, workplace flexibility, professional development, and Employee Resource Groups. ### Equal opportunity Liberty Mutual is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to inclusion.
