## Senior Infrastructure Engineer **Location:** Barrow-in-Furness (Onsite) **Schedule:** 5 days per week on site **Salary:** Up to £58,000 ### About the role Join BAE Systems to support, develop, and deliver IT services. You’ll resolve infrastructure support issues and help maintain, manage, and optimise infrastructure performance and availability. You’ll work closely with internal engineering and product teams to bridge the gap between infrastructure and software development, driving efficiency through automation. ### Core duties - Support the organisation’s IT infrastructure across **Windows and Linux** - Design, deploy, and maintain **servers, storage, networking, and security systems** - Install, configure, and deploy **IT hardware** in line with hosting requirements - Investigate and diagnose issues by gathering information from physical and digital sources, reviewing platform/assembly defects, and identifying contributing factors - Administer a **virtualised production environment** using industry-standard tools ### Essential skills - Proven **Wintel systems administration** experience (Patching, **Active Directory**, **PowerShell**, **DNS**, **DHCP**, **Windows Server 2016–2025**) - Proficient in **VMware and Horizon** (**vCenter/ESXi**, **vSAN**) including installing, patching, and maintenance - Detailed understanding of **network architecture**, with a focus on **Palo Alto firewall** and network security technologies - Understanding and applying **cyber security methodologies** - Install, configure, and support **network components** - Administer **on-premise platforms**, including **Citrix** and thin client technologies ### Team You’ll join an Infrastructure Engineering team delivering new enabling capabilities, resolving infrastructure support issues, and maintaining, managing, and optimising infrastructure performance and availability. ### Security / eligibility notes Many roles are subject to **security and export control restrictions**.
