**Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer** **About the Role** Scale AI is powering the generative AI wave by providing data and infrastructure for companies building large-scale foundation models. Customers include OpenAI, Microsoft, Adept, Stability AI, and more. The Platform team builds core abstractions and infrastructure enabling rapid product iteration. We're seeking an Operations-focused AWS Engineer with deep experience in infrastructure management, lifecycle maintenance, and security hardening. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **📋 Responsibilities** 🔧 **Infrastructure Lifecycle** — Lead end-to-end AWS infrastructure lifecycle including patching, version upgrades, and maintenance for high availability 🛡️ **Vulnerability Management** — Identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across the cloud footprint in partnership with the Security Team 📊 **AWS Optimization** — Monitor and optimize AWS resource utilization for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency ⚙️ **Automate Operations** — Streamline repetitive tasks (fleet-wide patching, config audits) using scripting and automation tools 🚨 **Incident Response** — Provide technical expertise for infrastructure-level troubleshooting and operational health reviews 🔒 **Security Compliance** — Build and maintain systems adhering to strict security standards with proactive mitigations ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **✅ Qualifications** • **6+ years** of AWS experience (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS) including multi-account environments • Proven track record managing **large-scale patching programs** and major version upgrades with minimal downtime • Proficiency with **AWS SSM, Terraform, Atlantis, and Kubernetes** • Scripting skills in **Bash, Python**, or similar for operational automation • Experience with **vulnerability scanning tools** and cloud infrastructure hardening • Familiarity with **Datadog, CloudWatch**, or similar monitoring tools • ⭐ Bonus: Experience with **Azure** or **Google Cloud Platform** ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ **💰 Compensation** > Base Salary (SF, NYC, Seattle): **$143,000 – $178,000 USD** > Includes equity, comprehensive health/dental/vision, retirement benefits, L&D stipend, and generous PTO. *Scale is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.*
