Part of Attain's portfolio, Merryfield is a leading performance marketing platform connecting better-for-you brands with a premium audience. **Office Locations & Schedule** • Redwood City, CA: Mondays in-office + choice of 3 days Tues-Friday • Chicago, IL & New York, NY: 4 days in-office; 1 day remote **You'll be a great fit if you:** • Excited to architect and build microservices using Node.js and Go • Love working closely with product teams to deliver great customer experiences • Energized by high-throughput environments where stability, speed, and UX matter equally • Willing to learn and teach in a collaborative environment • Thrive in open feedback environments **Day-to-Day Responsibilities** • Build new features and services across microservice architecture • Write thoughtful, quality code that is readable, testable, and maintainable • Create data-driven and stable APIs for mobile apps • Strive for excellent development practices and rapid releases • Work cross-functionally with mobile/backend engineers and product teams • Participate in agile processes and regular cadence meetings **Preferred Qualifications** • 6+ years building backend services; 2+ years in technical leadership (mentoring, scoping projects) • Microservice or Service-oriented Architecture experience • Node.js ecosystem experience • gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL experience • AWS environment management (GCP a plus) • Relational database experience • Message queues or event streams experience • Financial and rewards tech industry experience (a plus) • Experience with modern AI-enhanced development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) *We encourage applications even if your experience doesn't match every detail.
