Our systems process and move more than $1.5 billion annually, enabling real-time access to financial tools, rewards, and services. **The Role** Help design, build, and scale the systems that underpin Klover's core products and platform. You'll work on high-impact, production-grade systems that prioritize reliability, security, and performance, integrating with a broad ecosystem of internal and external services. **You'll be a great fit if:** • Excited to build and scale backend systems for financial products and real-time payments • Thrive where data integrity, security, and performance are critical • Experienced building microservices using Rust and Go • Willing to learn and teach in a collaborative environment • Eager to leverage and develop using AI tools • Excel in open feedback environments **Day-to-Day Responsibilities** • Build and evolve microservices handling high-volume financial and transactional data • Design and implement APIs connecting to payment processors, banks, and fintech partners • Write quality, readable, testable, and maintainable code • Develop data-driven services powering account management and financial insights • Work cross-functionally with backend, mobile, and product teams • Participate in agile processes and continuous improvement **Preferred Qualifications** • 5+ years building backend services in production • Fintech, payments, or banking systems experience • Knowledge of SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR compliance standards • Experience with transactional and event-driven systems • Microservice or Service-oriented Architecture familiarity • gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL experience • Expert SQL and financial data modeling skills • Message queue/event stream experience (Kafka, RabbitMQ) • Cloud environment experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) **Location:** Chicago, IL (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)
