## Software Engineer, Performance Tooling and Infrastructure (New Grad) ### About Nuro Nuro is building a universal autonomy platform for self-driving vehicles. Founded in 2016, the company develops Level 4 autonomous driving technology powered by the Nuro Driver™, with backing from Uber, NVIDIA, Google, Softbank, and other leading investors. ### About the Role You'll own the infrastructure that validates every autonomy code change on actual robot compute hardware before deployment. The Performance Simulation Platform is a hybrid benchmarking system combining: - Physical bench-top rigs running production robot compute (NVIDIA Thor) - Cloud-native orchestration (Kubernetes, GCP) - Automated data pipelines feeding BigQuery and Grafana - Custom tracing and profiling tools This high-ownership role on a small team directly gates the release velocity of the entire autonomy stack. ### Key Responsibilities - **Benchmarking Infrastructure**: Develop job orchestration for performance benchmarks integrated into CI/CD pipelines - **Platform Reliability & Observability**: Build monitoring, alerting, and self-healing automation for the bench fleet - **Performance Data Pipelines**: Design end-to-end pipelines capturing fine-grained metrics and surfacing insights - **Statistical Analysis**: Develop experimentation methodology for non-deterministic autonomy workloads - **Bare-Metal & OS Platform**: Guide OS and system-level configuration of bench hardware - **Fleet Strategy**: Own planning and allocation across hardware generations - **Cross-Functional Collaboration**: Partner with Hardware, SRE, Perception, Behavior, and Data Science teams ### About You - ~1+ years of industry software engineering experience - Strong Python proficiency and working C++ knowledge - Experience building data pipelines, SQL, and analytical workflows - Deep Linux systems knowledge (kernel tuning, boot infrastructure, networking) - Technical leadership experience setting vision and driving cross-functional alignment - AI-native approach to engineering workflow - Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments ### Bonus Points - Performance engineering tooling experience (perf, Perfetto, pprof, eBPF, NVIDIA Nsight Systems) - Robotics or AV experience, particularly NVIDIA DriveOS stack ### Compensation **Base Pay Range**: $153,000 - $175,000 (based on experience, qualifications, location, and skills) Eligible for annual performance bonus, equity, and competitive benefits package. *Nuro is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.*
