**Everpure — Systems Software Engineer (MTS3)** **Location:** On-site, Santa Clara, CA **Work model:** #LI-ONSITE / #LI-REMOTE --- ## Overview Join the Core Products Business Unit (CPBU) Systems Software team to build high-reliability systems infrastructure and controller-upgrade automation for a next-generation hardware upgrade framework. You’ll help shift hardware upgrades from manual, support-intensive workflows to a safer, guided, automated self-service experience integrated into **Pure1** and **Skyline**. --- ## What You’ll Do - **Design & Build Upgrade Infrastructure:** Architect, implement, and maintain high-reliability systems software for controller-upgrade automation and the next-gen hardware upgrade framework. - **Automate Upgrade Workflows:** Convert complex hardware replacement/upgrade tasks into repeatable self-service workflows to reduce support and field dependencies. - **Engineered Safety & Resilience:** Build state machines, health checks, workflow orchestration, pre/post-upgrade validations, failure handling, and automated recovery paths. - **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner with internal services and Pure1/Skyline cloud teams to deliver an end-to-end guided experience. - **Testing & Pipeline Validation:** Create test strategies, regression coverage, and CI/CD automation (e.g., Jenkins) across diverse hardware/software combinations. - **Observability & Telemetry:** Define operational metrics for upgrade execution time, manual intervention, error modes, and telemetry. --- ## What You Bring - Strong hands-on development skills in **C++** and **Python**. - Solid foundations in **distributed systems**, **high availability (HA)**, **storage architectures**, **hardware lifecycle**, or **embedded/platform software**. - Experience designing **state machines**, **workflow orchestration**, **health checks**, **error handling**, and **operator guidance** for critical systems. - Exceptional debugging across multi-layer system boundaries (software, hardware, distributed services) in reliability-sensitive environments. - Experience with **test strategies** and automated validation across hardware/software combinations; familiarity with **CI/CD** tools such as **Jenkins** or **GitLab**. - Strong written and verbal communication skills and a track record of driving cross-functional alignment. - Willingness to work **on-site in Santa Clara, CA** to engage with hardware and lab environments. - **Plus:** Familiarity with storage protocols/architecture (**NVMe, iSCSI, PCIe, NUMA**), HA failover design, controller replacement dynamics, or server/CPU hardware architecture. --- ## What You Can Expect From Us - **Innovation:** Think critically, take on challenges, and aim to be a trailblazer. - **Growth:** Support to grow and contribute to meaningful work (Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Technology™ and Bay Area™; Great Place to Work® certified). - **Team:** Collaborative culture with a focus on the greater good. **Perks:** Flexible time off, wellness resources, and company-sponsored team events.
