**Senior Software Engineer, ML Infra - Asset Safety** **About the Role** Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build resilient, highly scalable ML-based safety systems protecting millions of daily user-generated assets. You'll tackle complex engineering challenges across diverse modalities—3D content, code, images, and video—operating at platform-wide scale. **Key Responsibilities** • Architect and optimize end-to-end ML-based safety moderation systems using scalable distributed architectures • Deliver production-grade, AI-driven safety products from ideation through deployment • Drive technical roadmap decisions, implement observability/reliability practices, and mentor engineering team members • Partner with Moderation Operations, Product Management, Data Science, and cross-functional teams **Required Experience** • 5+ years professional software engineering experience with large-scale ML infrastructure and distributed systems • Deep backend expertise in microservices, distributed architecture, scalable data storage, and event-driven processing • Proven technical leadership architecting and deploying low-latency ML services to production • Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Flink), CI/CD pipelines, security compliance, and system observability • Hands-on experience with computer vision and multi-modal architectures (image, audio, video, 3D) • Vision-Language Model (VLM) fine-tuning experience is a plus **Ideal Candidate** Resourceful, analytical, user-oriented, team-oriented, and mission-driven. Adaptable in fast-moving environments with a track record of solving complex technical challenges. **Compensation & Location** 📍 San Mateo, CA (Onsite Tue-Thu) 💰 $278,530 - $328,610 USD annually Full-time employees eligible for equity compensation and comprehensive benefits.
